Qureight's $20M Goes Into a Chest Imaging Model

A $20m Series B led by Molten Ventures takes Qureight past 27 million euros raised, with a chest imaging foundation model next.

Qureight, a Cambridge company that handles imaging for clinical trials, has closed a $20m Series B led by Molten Ventures. Existing backers Hargreave Hale AIM VCT, XTX Ventures, Guinness Ventures, Meltwind and Ascension also took part, bringing total funding above 27 million euros.

The company was founded in 2019 by Dr Muhunthan Thillai and Dr Sam Koshy and sells AI-powered imaging to biopharmaceutical sponsors running trials in lung and heart disease.

Its platform combines imaging contract research services delivered globally, proprietary AI lung image biomarkers, and synthetic control arm data products. Those biomarkers quantify compartment-specific structural changes captured in chest imaging data.

Proceeds will fund an AI imaging laboratory built around the company's 3D chest imaging Foundation Model. The model is intended to cut both the volume of data and the time required to develop new disease models, which is the constraint on how quickly the platform can extend beyond its current coverage.

That extension is already mapped. Products aimed at asthma, pulmonary hypertension, bronchiectasis and drug-induced lung toxicity are planned to sit alongside existing lung fibrosis models, though no launch timeline has been given for any of them.

"We are strategically positioning ourselves to address this market with our end-to-end, integrated imaging platform for clinical trials," said Dr Thillai, co-founder and chief executive.

The post-money valuation was not disclosed. Nor did the company say how the Series B changes its runway, how many trial sponsors it currently serves, or when the new disease products reach the market.
